Solo Sessions

While Boudoir Marathons are amazing for keeping things a bit faster and costs down, a solo session makes sure you can slow down and enjoy the full experience. This is a great option for those who may start off a bit more on the shy side and then open up later in the shoot. They can also be booked at any time and give you a lot more freedom on locations and time of day.

Where should we do your shoot?

I’d love to shoot in a location that feels meaningful to you. This can be at home, in a boutique hotel that reflects your style, or somewhere else entirely. The nature of boudoir requires us to book our session somewhere private. Sometimes, this means finding an indoor location. But, it doesn't necessarily have to mean that! If you’re feeling adventurous and know of outdoor locations that are private or you love the river/water theme, I’m game! Alternatively, if there’s a nice boutique hotel you’ve stayed at that you love the look of, let’s check it out together. I love learning about new locations and traveling so let me know!

The main reason we’re here is for your self-empowerment, to make you feel as phenomenal as you are. If getting your hair and makeup done makes you feel more confident and comfortable in your own skin, do it. If you feel weird in a full face of makeup, skip it – or just keep it minimal.

If you do decide to get a little bit fancy, then I fully recommend getting your hair and makeup professionally done! If you’ve got a fantastic long hair, it’s best to wear your hair down – I have tons of great poses that involve running your fingers through your hair or tossing it around a little bit.

I don’t have a hair + makeup artist available for my shoots but I can recommend a few amazing artists for you to chat with!

Boudoir Marathons

What is a Boudoir Marathon?

A Boudoir Marathon is basically a bunch of boudoir mini sessions back to back BUT instead of 10 or 20 minutes, you’ll get 45 minutes to an hour. Each month, I host 1 or 2 Boudoir Marathons at local boutique hotels taking only 4 sessions per Marathon.

What do Boudoir Marathon Sessions include?

Each of these sessions include:

  • Skin retouching

  • 5 Digital Fully Edited Images

  • A Mini Accordion Photo Book with 10 Images

  • Poses that are specific to your body style so you look your absolute best

    And as a bonus:

  • Hanging out with me and my glowing personality!

How much should I expect to spend?

To book your session, you can expect $150-$300 depending on the specific hotel and if I’ll be including Hair + Makeup. About 2-3 weeks after your session, we will get together and go through your amazing portraits and you can then choose to purchase a variety of packages starting at $599 for digital or $955 for prints and photobooks. For more pricing, head over to Boudoir Collections!

How do I get my prints?

You have a couple different options here and it’s totally up to you:

First option, I can have them shipped to myself so I can go through them and make sure they are perfect and then hand-deliver them to you. This ensures that if there are any damages, I can handle the return and you don’t need to be bothered with it.

Second option, I can have them shipped directly to you. If you live a long distance from Mankato, or you just want them to get to you faster this is your best option.

I’ve order tons of prints over the years and only had an issue one time but they can happen! If there are any issues, I’m more than happy to take care of the returns for you!

Privacy

Boudoir is a sensitive art form. You are baring it all in front of a stranger and trusting them with your most intimate images. That’s why, when you book with Josh G Photography, you will be given a model release form to sign in person that gives you full control over which photos (if any) can be shared in any way. You also have control over how much you would like to show in your images. If you’re self-conscious of any part of your body or want to accentuate a certain part of your body more than others, we will work together to make you feel comfortable and beautiful.

Direction + Posing

Before your photoshoot, you’ll be sent a questionnaire to help me understand where your comfort level lies so I can better decide on poses and lighting. What if during the photoshoot you realize you’re not as comfortable with the amount of nudity as you originally thought you would be? That’s totally fine! You just have to let me know. I’m usually a good judge of body language if someone is uncomfortable but nothing beats verbal confirmation. I don’t want anyone leaving their photoshoot feeling anything other than excited, empowered, and overall happy with their experience!

Upbeat + Excited Attitude

I like to think of myself as a very upbeat and happy-go-lucky person! I like to joke around and have a good time. That means that from moment one of meeting me, I’ll probably have a smile on my face and embarrass myself. This helps me from being nervous around my clients and I believe it helps my clients from being nervous around me!

Preparing for your Session

Preparing properly for your boudoir session can be key to looking absolutely stunning for it. A few simple steps to help you feel and look phenomenal should start a week or two (or more) prior to your session.

  • Eating healthy is a great way to feel amazing. Don’t starve yourself. Load up on leafy greens, healthy fats, and lots of water. Your skin will thank you for it.

  • Get lots of sleep, especially the night before your shoot. You’ll feel and look way more refreshed if you’re feeling well-rested.

  • Moisturize. Do a face mask. Exfoliate. Condition. Do all of the things to pamper yourself – not just because you’ll look better, but you’ll feel more confident knowing that you’re looking your best, too.

  • Make a playlist! Choose songs that make you feel sexy, beautiful, or happy. We can play your music on my speaker and jam out together!

  • Mentally prepare by being mindful of your thinking. Practice being kind to yourself in small ways, like identifying parts of your body and mentally listing things about each part that you’re grateful for.
